Drabble Tag!
The prompts battle didn't take off, and I have a feeling the momentum behind this comm is gone, but it's Friday night for me and I want distractions from everything else I'm supposed to be writing. So let's have a game of drabble tag - goal is to pair up every student/teacher/guest lecturer (which means any other Who-character or crossovers) in every combination!

Loose rules are that we'll start off with a few pairings; when you write one, put it as a reply with the pairing in the subject line, and then add three more pairings of your own to keep things going. No word minimums or limits, just have fun! (You can find our very loose character list here to remind you of what's what if needed, or just go wild).

Mel/The Rani
It wasn’t Mel’s fault. Not really. Rose had dared her and then Polly had stole the Headmistress’ leather jumpsuit and by then everyone knew about it (and Ace had confided to her that the lower forms had a betting pool on whether she actually would follow through, so Mel better get on with it before Susan got all of Ace’s pocket money.)

So, you see, it wasn’t really Mel’s fault that she ended up locking the Headmistress in her office before Assembly and taking her place at the podium in order to give a speech on the importance of computers, carrot juice, and kicking the arse of those jerks at the Torchwood co-educational. She certainly didn’t see why she should have to run laps under the supervision of the Assistant Headmistress, especially with Helen A’s quite obviously mutant dog, Fifi, chasing after her.

Oh well. At least Mel was in good shape. And if the Headmistress had expected Mel to be panting and wheezing when she’d shown up at the end of the detention, her expression hadn’t betrayed any disappointment. In fact, she seemed rather amused by the whole thing and was positively smirking when she ordered Mel to her office.

It turned out that she was conducting an experiment just how loudly a person could scream in the throws of passion. And after Mel’s little prank, didn’t she feel obligated to help her Headmistress with the experiment?

As it turned out, Mel did.

The Assistant Headmistress Helen A will also make an appearance in my Jack/Brig story. (If I ever finish it!)

This is kinda crap, but I wanted to write one more before bed.

"Sometimes," Jo moaned, flopping back onto Rose's bed, "I think my boyfriend's just a little bit..."

"Fruity? Flamboyant? Homosexual?" Rose supplied, lounging on the chair opposite.

"Rose!" Jo said, pouting. "That's an awfully rude way of putting it."

"Fine, Fitz is quite interested in getting his end away with Turlough, then, that more accurate?"

"Well...I suppose that's fair," Jo said, "but it doesn't mean I have to like it. I mean, honestly! What am I supposed to do while he's off chasing that ginger bastard all over the place?"

"I felt that was obvious from the moment you decided to sprawl yourself all over my bed, hair in attractive disarray and top buttons on your shirt conveniently undone."

Jo tugged at her shirt, blushing.

"No, it's okay," Rose said soothingly, moving over to lie down next to Jo. "I've caught Benton's eye on Yates more than I'd like to admit. It's not fair, really, how many utterly attractive people there are wandering around these two schools. I swear it should be illegal."

"Both schools?" Jo said, looking up at Rose hopefully.

"Yes, yes, you're a lovely girl," Rose said, grinning.

"Oh, good," Jo said, and turned on Rose with surprising quickness, getting a hand under her shirt and her lips on Rose's neck before the other girl could react. "Oops!" she said, giggling, "got a little lipstick there. That's not regulation. Better watch out the Headmistress doesn't catch you."

"You're crazy," Rose said, "but that's my kind of crazy."

Later, Benton and Fitz both felt like they'd really dodged a bullet, given that their girlfriends no longer seemed to care about where their eyes might wander.

“What are you doing?” Sarah stuck her head round the door of the science lab.

“An experiment,” Liz murmured vaguely, tipping a measure of a clear liquid from a beaker into a flask.

“Will it blow up the school? If it blows up the school, I can write an article about it.”

“And if it doesn’t blow up the school?” Liz plugged in a rather strange looking device and turned round to face Sarah.

Sarah shrugged. “I can still write the article. I need practice and the school newspaper needs news.”

“I’m not sure everyone finds my experiments as thrilling as you do. And the last time you wrote an article about my work, it took me an hour to correct it.”

Sarah smiled winningly. “How about if I pass you your test tubes and tell you how wonderful you are?

“How about I kiss you now?”

“I like your suggestion better.”

Liz’s experiment did not blow up the school. But, when left unattended for a while, it did manage to make a rather large explosion and effectively destroy the science lab while also shorting out all the electricity, causing havoc as night fell.

All in all, it was a good job that Liz and Sarah weren’t in there. They didn’t even notice the distressing-yet-entertaining lack of power, being otherwise occupied.
